The originators of the original Singing Tesla Coils, ArcAttack is a multimedia performance art group specializing in the production of music through homemade instruments. The Tesla coils each throw a 12 foot long electrical arc which act as an electrical instrument and are combined with a robotic drum set and bright LED colored lights to produce a high-powered, high energy performance.
The ensemble, led by an engineer, electrician, audio engineer and a science teacher creates everything the students see on stage. Your students will experience a show that teaches fundamentals of science and technology.
This program meets the National Science Education Standards, and inspires students to pursue physics, math, chemistry and engineering.

“Celtic Connections” demonstrates through music, instruments, authentic Scottish Tartan kilts, tradition and geography, the positive influence diverse cultures can have on each other. Through simple vocalization, students learn two of Celtics music’s most popular dance tune styles: the jig (6/8 time signature) and the reel(4/4 time signature). Using traditional Irish music as an example, students hear an historic rendition of a 500-year-old-jig, to which newer musical influences from Spain and the Americas are added. Demonstrating that Irish Music is now influenced by the entire world of music, traditional instruments from East India and Australia are introduced and blended with the traditional instruments & tunes of Ireland. A lively question and answer session encourages students to have direct and honest dialogue with the artists.

Utilizing an interactive study guide prior to the performance, students will engage in teamwork as they create outlandish scenarios with endless possibilities on theme and genre to challenge the actors of the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival. Both actor and audience will be kept on their toes as these suggestions are pulled out of a hat moments before the scene is performed. Join us on this fast paced improvisational journey as the unparalleled genius of the master playwright is seen in a whole new light.
